Product description

Battery pack rack designed for compatible online series uninterrupted power supply systems

Rackmount Battery Pack - secure backup in a 19" rack

The B/0609/R/DF battery module is a Rack battery pack dedicated for use with Armac's Rack Series PF1 Dust-Free UPS. It is designed to extend the back-up time of compatible Rack Series UPSs operating in typical 19" rack cabinets in SME and SOHO server and network environments.

Like the previous generation, the new Armac Rack Series battery pack is equipped with 6 powerful 9Ah batteries with a total voltage of 72V DC. Such a set of batteries makes it possible to guarantee stable operation of the most demanding equipment in a 19" rack, consuming considerable amounts of energy - also during longer power outages.

The new battery version B/0609/R/DF is an upgrade of the earlier, proven series, which was very popular due to its reliability and significant extension of the maximum UPS backup time, which directly translates into greater functionality of the entire system.

Support for Armac
series Rack On-Line PF1 Dust-Free uninterruptible power supplies

The B/0609/R/DF module is a key support for Armac's Rack Series On-Line PF1 Dust-Free UPS. It is designed to work with compatible Armac Rack Series On-Line UPS (PF1/PF1 DF), where it acts as an extension of the battery part:

  • Armac Rack Series UPSs don't need to be replaced - all you need is a battery pack module to extend the backup time to the required level.
  • In the case of UPS R/3000I/PF1 DF, the maximum limit of additional battery pack s is 4 pieces - this is the optimal point between capacity and system safety.
  • This makes Armac UPS's ability to extend runtime scalable - it can be adapted to the size of the rack, the amount of equipment and SLA requirements.

This approach will be appreciated by network administrators and installers - Armac UPS series can be easily expanded without interfering with the entire power infrastructure.

Rack battery module with dust filters:
Dust-Free in practice

The PF1 Dust-Free series is a solution for environments where dust and debris pose a real risk to electronics - even inside the rack. That's why the B/0609/R/DF as a Rack Battery Module is equipped with:

  • dust filters for increased protection of the battery pack interior,
  • an enclosure suitable for continuous operation in dusty conditions,
  • consistency with the "Dust-Free" philosophy for the entire system - the battery pack as well as the UPS co-create a closed, better protected emergency power ecosystem.

This is a real benefit to the user - a more stable battery environment translates into longer life and predictable performance over its lifetime.

Flexible rack and off-rack mounting

.

The device can be mounted in a 19" rack in two ways:

  1. Using the mounting ears themselves (included with the product) - this is the standard front mounting method.
  2. Using the Armac mounting rail kit - R/0019 (sold separately). This configuration is recommended because it provides better stability and security for the battery pack and the power supply itself.

In addition, the kit includes:

  • stands that allow the unit to be placed vertically outside the rack (e.g. in a small SOHO server room),
  • mounting ears for 19" racks,
  • a supply of screws with M6 baskets.

Thanks to this, the installer has full freedom - the battery pack can work both in a classic rack and next to it, maintaining order and security of cabling.

Securely connect the battery pack to the UPS

Connecting the B/0609/R/DF to the UPS is quick and comes down to correctly connecting the dedicated battery connectors:

  1. On the back of the Armac Rack Series UPS, there are two ports for connecting the Rack battery pack: one for the main module, the other for connecting another module.
  2. The whole process can be done in a few minutes, according to the installation instructions.

Technical notes:

  • Do not connect the two connectors with a single wire - this risks a short circuit.
  • The combined battery voltage of the power supply and battery pack must be in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations (72V DC).
  • Only then will the system together with a compatible backup power supply work stably and safely.

This approach simplifies the work of installers and reduces the number of potential errors during system expansion.

Stacking of several BP modules:
scalable energy in one cabinet

.

As with the previous generation, the Dust-Free line of backup time extensions doesn't end with a single battery pack. With Armac uninterruptible power supplies, the ability to extend backup time is based on:

  • flexible configuration from several BP modules,
  • the ability to connect another module without rebuilding the entire system,
  • a design in which Armac's uninterruptible back-up time extension capability is an integral feature of the solution, not an add-on.

For the administrator, this means scaling battery capacity along with the growth of the infrastructure - without replacing the basic UPS.

Benefits of battery pack Rack for SME, SOHO and small server rooms

The battery pack rack for Armac's Rack PF1 Dust-Free UPS series is best suited where predictable emergency runtime matters:

  • in small and medium-sized businesses, where UPSs protect servers, disk arrays, telephone exchanges and network systems,
  • in SOHO server rooms, where even a power outage of several minutes means service interruptions,
  • in monitoring and security installations (video recorders, access control systems), where uninterruptible power supplies need to keep equipment running for much longer than a few minutes.

With B/0609/R/DF , Armac Rack Series UPS (including Armac Rack Series On-Line UPS) gain the ability to conveniently, predictably scale battery capacity and adapt the system to the requirements of the business - both today and in a few years.
