OPERATING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ARMAC UPS POWER SUPPLIES
ARMAC UPSs are top-quality devices, designed for reliability and long-term operation in both home, office and industrial settings. To ensure their optimal performance and longevity, users should follow a few simple rules for use and maintenance. Below are detailed operating recommendations to help keep ARMAC UPS in top condition.
1. ENVIRONMENTAL RECOMMENDATIONS - storage and ventilation.
  • Avoid moisture and heat: Do not install or store the UPS where there may be standing or running water, excessive humidity, direct sunlight or heat sources (radiators, hot air outlets, etc.).
  • Stable location: Place the UPS on a stable, dry surface in a well-ventilated area or in a server rack, using appropriate brackets and mounting rails.
  • Ventilation: For tower chassis models, leave at least 50 cm of clearance around the UPS to ensure adequate ventilation.
  • Optimal temperature and humidity: Maintain the ambient temperature and humidity according to the UPS technical specifications.
  • Condensation: Avoid condensation by moving the unit gradually from a cold to a warm environment. Make sure the UPS is completely dry before starting it up.
2. BATTERY LIFE RECOMMENDATIONS
ARMAC UPS emergency power supplies require minimal maintenance. Lead-acid batteries (AGM) are sealed and maintenance-free, but require regular charging. The battery charges when the UPS is connected to electrical power, whether the UPS is on or off. When the batteries are not fully charged, the UPS automatically recharges them and shows a charge indicator each time it is connected to a power source. The batteries are also protected against overcharging and over-discharge. The charge indicator will gradually increase as the battery charge level increases, and when fully charged the indicator will show 100%. The power backup time will be shorter until the batteries are fully charged.
  • Initial charging: Charge the batteries after delivery from the vendor, as they may self-discharge.
  • Regular charging: If the UPS has not been used for a long time, discharge and recharge its battery at least once every 6 months. In hot climates, charging and discharging should be done every 2 months.
  • Avoiding overheating: Take care of the UPS's proper ambient temperature to avoid overheating, which can reduce battery performance and life.
  • Battery life: Under normal operating conditions, battery life is 3 to 5 years. In case of reduced battery performance, replace the entire set of batteries with batteries of the same type, model and manufacturer, performing this operation by qualified personnel.
Following the above recommendations will allow you to use ARMAC UPS for a long time without problems, thus ensuring the highest quality and reliability that we intended for them.
